Spring baseball

Jack has suddenly taken an interest in baseball- well any ball really. Throwing, kicking, tossing.

This picture is from a couple of Sundays ago. Luckily it has warmed up here an no longer necessary to have on a winter coat and hat- most days. But the moment was so nice. It captures the easy going nature of weekends at our house. :)

I can't wait until June when we take Jack to his first baseball game. The team here in town isn't too big but it will be plenty for the littlest fan!

Take out

Dads away... Time for edamame!!

Still not sure where this guy gets his veggie loving nature- but this was an exciting appetizer addition to our dinner menu while Pete is at a work meeting tonight!!

Jack says "There's beans in here! So many beans. Whoop- there's another one!"

A little Saturday fun

Time to start blogging again :) Fingers crossed I can keep up with it even when Baby #2 arrives!

The weather is FINALLY warming up around here- it might actually be for good. For 3 people who are effectively done with winter, we took full advantage of these "hot" temps (in the 50s)...

Jack spent most of the day outside riding his bike, checking on his wagon, and sitting in the jeep. But we did take a break for egg making! The Haas egg cups are definitely the way to go for these little guys- quick and no big mess!

Getting the cups ready!

Ready to add eggs

The waiting game...

In the meantime, we helped dad with several projects including assembling the fire pit here at the house.

No complaints here- if this is spring, we will take it!

Cookies

It has gone from late summer to fall to winter in about 10-14 days here!! (Although the move one hour south has held off snowfall for the moment...)

This frigid and damp weather seemed like the perfect time to start making cookies. I decided to get Jack so excited. He has really loved pouring in ingredients lately. The mixer was out and we were all set!!

Jack was fascinated with the spinning and whirring and wanted to pour on more, more, more.

Then, he was done.

I called him back over and he did cut two cookies. I felt like Henny Penny when he wanted to eat them all up!! Tis the life if being the mom- maybe next time. I sure had fun and I am sure he did too. There's just so much to do in an almost two year olds day- no time to spare?!?!?

Happy Fall!

Conferences

Busy busy busy around conference time! Meeting with all the parents of my students is a great experience and super informative- but exhausting!! I am here until 7:30 for two nights which makes for a very tired teacher...

This was my last conference of Tuesday night. They were so kind, very enjoyable conversation- they even brought dinner for the whole first grade team! I was glad they ended on such a great note :)
